One in a Million

When I met you I thought you were the only one for me.
And I figured that made you the one in a million one for me.
But as time went by I knew what that means.
If you're one in a million all that really means is that there are thousands just like you.
They say we're special just like diamonds.
That we're each and all unique.
But if all of that were true how come they've all been like you?
And if all of that were true why you treat me like this too?
If you're one in a million all that really means is that there are thousands just like you

You Never Think of Me

I built a contraption to try to read your mind
and I asked it how you feel about me.
Imagine how surprised was I to find
that you never think of me.
I wonder if you're reading the books I read
or have seen the films I see.
When I try a new restaurant I wonder what yo'd eat.
But such thoughts don't trouble you. This I guarantee.
'Cause you never think of me.
Now I didn't write this down in the hope that you'd feel bad.
The last thing I'd ever want is to hurt you with a song.
But let's be honest, kid, I finally understand.
And it's time I move on.
I'll always think of you on holidays and the gifts we gave.
Every year on your birthday I'll raise a beer or two.
It doesn't matter where I am or how I spend my days.
I'll always think of you.
But you never think of me too.
You never think of me.
